Beta Test Running Now!

Here’s how to get early access to the app.

No obligation, completely private, no data collected.

Android

To access the app on android, you’ll need a google account with access to the Google Play store.

The app is hosted by the Play Store like any other app.

Note that in this beta release, the provided set of character Templates is limited (pre-made characters you can copy if you don’t want to start your own from scratch). More will be added in the full release.

Add yourself to the testers list

A standard Google Group is used to register testers. To test, just add yourself (using your google account email) to the list here:

  • Click the “Join group” button and tell Google what account you be using in the Play Store.

  • You can leave the group any time, and no record of your email will be retained. Joining the group doesn't opt you anything except permission to download the app.

Access the app

On your android device, open this Google Play Store URL in Chrome:

Test things out

Use the app as much as you like. All features are unlocked, and all are free. (This may change in the final release, though!)

  • Google requires that the app be tested by at leas 20 android users, for 14 days (doing occasional tests for a few minutes now and then during that 14 day window).

  • You don’t have to do this of course, but the app can’t be release to the public until this requirement is met. If you’re willing to keep the app installed for the 14 days, and do a tiny bit of testing now and then, you can be one of the people who helps with this milestone!

Feedback and comments

You can provide feedback in the google group (same link as above), or by contacting me directly.

All suggestions and comments are welcome, and certainly let me know if you find something you think is a bug!

iOS

To access the app on iOS, you’ll need an Apple Account (Apple ID).

Note that in this beta release, the provided set of character Templates is limited (pre-made characters you can copy if you don’t want to start your own from scratch). More will be added in the full release.

TestFlight app

Distribution of the app is handled by Apple’s TestFlight service, and that requires having Apple’s Test Flight app installed on your device. If you don’t have TestFlight, you can get it here:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/testflight/id899247664

Add yourself as a tester

Use the following link on your iOS device to tell TestFlight that you’d like to add yourself as a tester for the app:

  • That will show you how to get TestFlight if you don’t have it, and a button to click to access the app.

  • The page also has details about how TestFlight works, if you’d like more information

That’s it!
